Kernel panic-not syncing:requested init LINUXRC failed (error-5)

When porting Linux on PowerPC mpc8247, the RAMDisk image file was placed in RAM and the following error occurred when booting the system with the BOOTM command:

The error code returned is 5, and the I/O error is defined in the errno-base.h of the Linux source directory/include/uapi/asm-generic. The cause of the error is that the allocated RAMDisk space is less than the size of the file system image file, and the workaround is to set ramdisk_size an appropriate value in the U-BOOT environment variable Bootargs:

setenv bootargs root=/dev/ram rw ramdisk_size=40960 console=ttycpm0,115200

Set it up and start the system again, you won't get this error.
