Simply put, the program does not effectively detect the received input data, leading to errors. The consequences may cause program crash or execute attacker commands.

UNIX, Windows, and many of its applications are written in C language. The C/C ++ language does not check the access to array subscripts, which is the root cause of buffer overflow. In some cases, if the length of data entered by the user exceeds the buffer given by the application, it will overwrite other data areas. This is called "buffer overflow ". There are two types of buffer Overflow: Heap Overflow and Stack Overflow ).
