Curious: Upgrade the stable version kUbuntu13.10 to kubuntu14.04. The result is a waste of two days of fixing the system, one by one!
Downgrading ....
Kubuntu14.04-> kubuntu13.10
1) Find the code of the two systems: saucy (13.10) | trusty (14.04)
2) modify the/etc/apt/sources. list file and put it in only two rows (note that the font content with the same color is consistent)
Deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu saucy main restricted universe multiverse
Deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu trusty main restricted universe multiverse
3) modify or add the/etc/apt/preferences file and only fill in the following content:
Package :*
Pin: release a = saucy
Pin-Priority: 1001
Package :*
Pin: release a = trusty
Pin-Priority: 60
4) sudo apt-get update
5) sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
6) restart the instance.
Note: The method for downgrading other Debian versions is similar.
References:
Create /etc/apt/preferences with the contents: Package: * Pin: release a=stable Pin-Priority: 1001 Package: * Pin: release a=testing Pin-Priority: 60 Package: * Pin: release a=unstable Pin-Priority: 50
