- This version includes KDE 4.7.1, Amarok 2.4.3, new tools for installing/managing Software (Muon Software Center and Muon Package Manager), Linux kernel 3.0, Upstart 1.3, GCC 4.6, and more updates to other software packages.
- All ISO images are now mixed CD/USB images and can be directly written to USB disks.
- This version also introduces the Kubuntu-Low-Fat-Settings: a set of configuration options can reduce memory usage or even accelerate the KDE loading time.
Kubuntu is based on Ubuntu. KDE is added to the Kubuntu CD. If you install Ubuntu and add KDE from the Ubuntu archives, you will get the same effect.
