According to a message from the KUbuntu community, Kubuntu announced that the support for Kubuntu 12.04 LTS was 5 years. The plan was approved by the Ubuntu Technical Committee in January 9. Recently, there has been some confusion in Kubuntu, which was previously announced by Canonical that they will no longer sponsor full-time Kubuntu developers or provide commercial support.
But the Kubuntu community now announces that Kubuntu will always stick to it, even as a Community project. Kubuntu promises to provide support of the same level in versions earlier than Kubuntu 12.04, and ensures that the Canonical staffing restrictions will not affect the technical level and support quality. Kubuntu 11.10 will continue to release the latest KDE software every six months.
