Download Kubuntu 14.10

Download a Plasma 4 Disk Image (Stable)
Download a Bootable image and put it onto a DVD or USB Drive

Download a Plasma 5 Disk Image (Tech Preview)
Download a Bootable image and put it onto a DVD or USB Drive

Run the following command to installPlasma 5 on 14.10
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/next
sudo apt update
sudo apt install kubuntu-plasma5-desktop
sudo apt full-upgrade sudo reboot

Is it a stable plasma4 or a technical preview plasma5?

Plasma4 is the default download image we recommend. It will also be supported by updates and BUG fixes, but it is no longer the most refreshing choice.

Plasma5 is still under development and can now be installed in your system. Note that this will remove the stable running software from your system. Although we are very grateful to the testers, there is no way to provide technical support for them. If there is any problem, you can only reinstall the stable version of plasma4.

This version of KDE contains a large number of BUG fixes.

This is the first release of plasma5 as an option. Although it may have one or more problems, the beautiful interface is still very eye-catching. For more information, see Plasma 5.0.
