LabVIEW loading error code 10: The vi version is outdated and cannot be converted to the current LabVIEW version

Update vis from a version earlier than LabVIEW 6.0 to a version later than LabVIEW 8.5.

Problem:I have a VI stored in a version earlier than LabVIEW 6.0. I cannot open it in both LabVIEW 8.5 and later versions. How can I open it?

Answer:

In LabVIEW 8.5 and later versions, you can only open VI stored in LabVIEW 6.0 and later versions. When vis is enabled, you may receive the error "LabVIEW loading error Code 10: The vi version is outdated and cannot be converted to the current LabVIEW version ".

If you want to update Vi before LabVIEW 6.0, follow these steps:

• For LabVIEW 4.0BeforeVersion:
  1. You need a copy of the LabVIEW conversion toolkit and LabVIEW 8.2.1. Contact your local Ni representative for information about the Toolkit (refer to part number 776874-03) and the copy of LabVIEW 8.2.1.
  2. Use this conversion tool kit to update your vis to version 4.0. Follow these steps.
• To enable your vis in LabVIEW 8.5 and later versions, the file must be first stored in the intermediate version of LabVIEW. We recommend that you update national instruments to LabVIEW 8.2.1 because this version is closest to the current version. Contact your local Ni representative or technical support to obtain a LABVIEW 8.2.1 evaluation version for free.
  1. Install LabVIEW 8.2.1 CD.
  2. If you only need to update a small number of VIS files, open the VIS file you want to update in LabVIEW 8.2.1 and save the file (use the Save all command)
  3. If you need to update many files, you can use the batch compilation function in LabVIEW. You can select a single file or the entire path during batch compilation. All projects will be opened, stored, and closed in the new version. To achieve this, selectTools> advanced> batch CompilationIn the displayed dialog box, select a file, path, or LLB.
