11. Install the network control tool master in the basic edition of Lenovo network control tool on the controller computer.

So far, the entire data center has been deployed.

Installation and deployment of Hard Disk Protection System

The hard disk protection system includes two functions: Hard Disk protection and CMOS parameter protection. The hard disk protection function can prevent malicious damage to hard disk data.

Hard Disk protection installation --Select installation

"Select installation" is a custom installation method. You can set protection options and required protection modes for each partition of the hard disk.

This installation method provides the ability to divide hard disk partitions and perform multiple system boot settings. When dividing hard disk partitions, you can set and install the hard disk protection system.

If you re-partition the hard disk, the original partition information and related data will be deleted. We recommend that you back up the original important data before partitioning the hard disk.

The purpose of partitioning a hard disk is to divide the hard disk into several isolated areas so that each operating system does not interfere with each other. When data needs to be shared, you can also set a shared data disk, enables access and read/write to each operating system.

Partition types include: system partition (BOOT disk) and Data Partition (Data Partition is divided into shared data disk and exclusive data disk ). You must install the operating system in the system partition. The operating system can access Shared data disks. dedicated data disks can only be accessed within the system.

After the protection module is installed, you cannot modify the partition type and restoration method. This operation will cause loss of all shadow systems. After you modify the partition type, all protected partitions are automatically saved.

If you need to install multiple operating systems or want to re-partition and install the required operating system, follow these steps:

1. Press the power switch to start the computer. When the Lenovo logo appears on the screen, press the F4 key on the disk repeatedly to enter the Lenovo hard disk protection system installation interface. Click "Select installation", as shown in Figure 2-1.

Figure 2-1 main installation interface of the hard disk Protection System

Note:

If your computer is an EFI motherboard, clear the EFI password before installation.

2. If your computer is an EFI motherboard and the motherboard BIOS has a password. Press F4. The following message is displayed: Enter the current EFI password. Enter the password and click "OK" to return to the main interface. Partition settings, as shown in Figure 2-2.

Figure 2-2 re-partitioning

3. in this case, you can select "retain all partitions" or "re-partition". If you want to re-partition, select the "re-partition" option first, click "Next" to operate the hard disk, as shown in Figure 2-3.

Figure 2-3 split hard disk

Note:

If you select "retain all partitions", see quick installation for details.

4. Click "add partition" to bring up the "add partition" operation interface, as shown in Figure 2-4.

Figure 2-4 Add a partition

5. Enter the required partition capacity, specify the partition type, and name the partition.

Description

1) partition type: You can select FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, EXT3, or SWAP as needed. If you set the partition type to FAT16 or FAT32, you can select "format now ?" Option. If this option is selected, the hard disk protection system will automatically format the partition. If you want to set this partition as a system partition, you need to check "partitions can be started (with the operating system )".

Note:

If the partition type you set is not FAT16 or FAT32, such as NTFS, format it by yourself.

2) restoration method: you can set your own recovery method for each partition (except for EXT3 and SWAP.

You can select "quick recovery" or "No protection" to recover a partition.

Note:

Quick recovery is to protect the partition from malicious data damage. After you restart your computer, the system will return to the status before this operation.

You can set the Data Partition recovery mode to "same System Disk" without selecting "partitions can be started ), you can also set three methods: quick recovery, no protection, and quick clearing. Note: NTFS, EXT3, and Swap do not support quick clearing.

You can set the recovery/clearing interval for other recovery methods except "not protected" and "same System Disk.

3) Recovery frequency: the recovery frequency of the system data. You can set it to start each boot, manual recovery, or timed recovery (such as every 1 day, every 2 days, (30 days at most ).

Note:

1. We recommend that you select "Start each time" for "recovery frequency", because if you select "manual recovery" or "scheduled recovery", a large amount of data accumulated over a long period of time may cause insufficient buffer areas and need to be restored.

2. If the recovery frequency is not "each Boot" or "manual recovery", but other recovery frequencies, the first recovery time will be displayed on the interface.

4) if the protection method belongs to the fast recovery type, you do not need to occupy disk space other than the partition, but you must install the hard disk protection driver in the corresponding operating system.

5) when dividing partitions, we recommend that you divide all the boot partitions before partitioning data.

6. Repeat the above steps to divide the hard disk, as shown in 2-5, showing a complete instance of the hard disk.

Figure 2-5 partitioned instances

On this page, you can delete partitions and modify attributes. If you exit, all the modifications, additions, and deletions are invalid and restored to the status before entering the interface.

First, select the partition to be modified or deleted, and then select "delete partition" to delete the selected partition. Then, select "Modify partition" to modify the attributes of the selected partition, the operation interface for modifying partitions is 2-6.

Note:

The "delete partition" operation must start from the last partition.

After the modification is completed, click "OK". The modification takes effect.

7. After setting all partitions, click "Next" on the page 2-5 to go to the "System Selection" page, as shown in Figure 2-7.

Figure 2-7 select a Data Partition

Description

1) In the instance shown in Figure 2-7, the hard disk is divided into four partitions. The two system partitions are named "os1" and "os2", indicating the operating system to be installed in the partition.

2) In addition, data partitions named "data1" and "data2" are shared data disks, which means that the partitions can be accessed and read and written in any operating system. The following operations modify the attributes of the Data Partition "data1" and "data2" to the exclusive data disk of the os1 system.

Select this partition, press the Enter key, or double-click the left mouse button in this partition. The page shown in Figure 2-8 is displayed.

Figure 2-8 partition settings

Select "os1" in the list, and click "OK" to adjust the "data1" partition to the exclusive data disk of OS1. Similarly, perform the preceding operations on the Data Partition "data2, data2 can also be converted to an exclusive Data Partition of os1. After adjustment, the interface shown in 2-9 is displayed.

Figure 2-9 System Selection

In this case, data1 and data2 are the exclusive data partitions of OS1. they can only be accessed in the os1 environment, but cannot be accessed in the os2 environment. After you click "OK", all the above operations will take effect.

8. Now, the settings are complete. Click "Next" to start installing the protection module and prompt the user to switch to the protection mode, as shown in Figure 2-10.

Figure 2-11 select system startup

Note:

1. if your computer needs to install the operating system or other software that requires restarting the computer, do not select the "enable mode after restart" option in the system settings of the Administrator menu; the first time you use it, go to the Administrator page and deselect the "enable Mode restart and automatically change to protection mode" option in system settings of the Administrator menu, as shown in figure
You need to check this function after full installation.
.

2. after you select the installation mode partition, select the corresponding boot disk for installation when installing the operating system. Do not install it on the data disk or in a space not assigned, do not change the partition attributes and size at will. Otherwise, the operating system will not be able to start normally.

3. although the hard disk protection system can restore your modification to the common partition of the hard disk under DOS, using the partition tool under DOS (such as fdisk) can easily damage Lenovo's service partition, as a result, hard disk protection software cannot be corrected
It usually works, so it is not recommended that you install and use the dossystem

10. restart the computer, insert the system installation disc, and press F12 to start from the optical drive. Then, the hard drive protection system selection page appears, and select the "Start System" corresponding to the system to be installed ", click "Enter System", and then follow the normal operating system installation method until the installation is complete.

Note:

1. If you need to install 3Dmark software, install it directly after installing the operating system, and then install the hard disk protection driver and other applications.

2. If you need to install the operating system, please do so in open mode. Before installation, You need to click "Administrator food" on the page from 2 to 11.

Description

1) The displayed operating system does not actually install the corresponding operating system, but only sets the selected partition as the operating system installation partition. after entering the system partition, you can install the corresponding operating system as usual.

2) After you enter the system partition and use the conventional method to install the operating system and hardware driver, be sure to install the hard disk protection system driver in the Windows operating system (For details, refer to Chapter 2nd to install the Lenovo network control tool basic edition) and switch to the protection mode as prompted on the screen. Since then, Lenovo hard disk protection system has taken effect.

3) In subsequent computer use, the choose to start the system interface shown in Figure 2-11 is displayed each time you start the system. In this window, you can select the OS to enter or enter the Administrator menu for relevant settings.

Quick installation

In the prompt dialog box, click "OK ".

Note:

After the quick installation is complete, only the hard disks that have been installed on the operating system are protected, and other disks are unprotected by default. The quick installation retains the original hard disk partitions and does not repartition them.

After the Lenovo hard disk Protection System and its driver are installed, the window for setting protection mode is displayed from 2 to 12 when the computer is started. Click OK, the system automatically sets data protection for the current system partition, And the Lenovo hard disk protection system takes effect.

Image System settings

The shadow system provides users with the ability to create multiple backups (up to 60 backups) based on the benchmark system.

If your system has been installed and the hard disk protection system is in the installation and protection status, you can press F8 on the system selection page to enter the system settings, as shown in Figure 2-14.

Figure 2-14 Image System Management

Double-click the real system in the operating system list to display the corresponding shadow system list. You can also create a shadow system for the real system or delete an existing shadow system.

After the operation is complete, you can "return" to the system selection list to view all created shadow systems.

Relationship between the original system and the shadow system:

1. If the original system is restored after each boot, the data changes between the original system and the shadow system are independent of each other, that is, they are invisible to each other.

2. if the restoration method of the original system is not restored after each boot, you enter the shadow system before the restoration time of the original system, and then enter the original system after restart, in this case, the data displayed in the original system is the data of the shadow system that was last entered, and the data temporarily stored in the original system is not seen.

Note:

1. The restoration method of the shadow system is the restoration method of each boot, regardless of the restoration method of the original system.

2. Due to the restrictions of the list box, the number of shadow systems you create and the total number of real systems cannot exceed 60.

3. Switching the open mode will cause loss of all the shadow systems.

4. Modifying the Partition Function for some system partitions (for example, modifying protection to unprotected; formatting Fat32) will cause loss of the corresponding shadow system.

5. the simultaneous transmission of protection parameters will lead to the loss of the shadow system at the receiving end. To ensure that the shadow system at the receiving end is consistent with that at the sending end, perform the simultaneous transmission of protection parameters before performing the intelligent simultaneous transmission operation on the shadow system.

6. Double-click the original system and the corresponding shadow system will be displayed in the list on the right.

7. The original and shadow systems are mutually visible under certain conditions:

A. If the original system is restored after each boot, the data changes between the original system and the shadow system are independent of each other, that is, they are invisible to each other.

B. If the original system is not restored every time it is started, and the original system enters the shadow system before the restoration time, save the data. Now, go to the original system. The data displayed in the original system is the data of the shadow system that was last accessed. At this time, the data of the original system is not displayed.

Install Lenovo network control tool basic Edition

Note:

1. After installing the operating system and hardware drivers, immediately install the Lenovo network control tool basic edition and restart the computer, and then install the software.

When all receivers perform the same transfer, select a computer as the management end (Control End) to manage all the controlled computers.

3. after the installation is complete, click Start> All Programs> Lenovo network control tool basic edition> optimization tool. The system optimization tool interface shown in 2-17 is displayed.

Figure 2-17 system optimization tools

4. Select the data items you need to transfer to unprotected partitions, and click "Start optimization" to complete the transfer.

Description

1) The target path refers to the path where you can direct a series of personal data such as favorites, my documents, desktops, logon passwords, and history to unprotected partitions. If necessary, avoid data loss during system recovery. We recommend that you transfer "virtual memory files" and "temporary system files" to unprotected partitions to reduce the usage of System Disk buffers. For user configuration files such as "desktop" and "favorites", if you want to restore the data when the system recovers, you can transfer these items to unprotected partitions. If you want the data to be restored along with the system, do not optimize these items.

2) After specifying other paths in the "target path", select "Start optimization" to take effect. To restore the original path of the system, select "Restore Default.

Note:

1. After the hard disk protection driver is installed, the protection mode of the hard disk protection system takes effect.

2. Some software cannot run normally in protection mode.

3. the hard disk protection system does not support S4 sleep function. Therefore, after installing the operating system, disable the S4 sleep function in open mode.

4. when you install the Lenovo network control tool basic edition in Windows Vista or Windows 7, the system will prompt you to disable UAC (User Account Control, if you do not disable UAC, some functions of the network control tool cannot be used normally. Click "yes" as prompted ".

Use of simultaneous network transfer-Network Environment

One computer serves as the sending end and the receiving end has no more than 200 computers. However, to ensure the stability of simultaneous transmission, we recommend that you use a vswitch or HUB to connect no more than 100 computers to the same LAN at a time, network devices do not prevent transmission of broadcast packets.

Preparations before simultaneous network transfer

Make the following preparations before performing simultaneous network transfer:

1. Ensure that the sender and all receivers are connected to the same network segment of the same LAN through the switch or HUB, and the network communication is normal (the network device should not prevent the transmission of broadcast packets ).

2. Make sure that the configuration and model of the sender computer are the same as those of the receiver.

3. select a computer in the network environment as the sender, install and set the operating system, hardware driver, hard disk protection driver, network control tool control end (if you need to use the network control function) and the required application software on the sending end.

4. The software installed on the sender can be used normally to ensure that the sender system is in good condition.

5. Scan and kill sending viruses, Trojans, and other malicious programs to ensure the security of the sending end.

6. Make sure that the sender enters the protection mode before performing simultaneous network transfer.

7. To ensure normal network simultaneous transmission, ensure that the PXE of the sender and receiver is enabled before network simultaneous transmission. To enable PXE, Press F1 To Go To The BIOSSetup Utility interface and set it to Enabled by selecting Devices → NetworkSetup → OnboardEthernet Controller ". At the same time, set the BootAgent item to PXE, and then PXE is enabled.

8. Changing the hard drive startup mode may cause you to fail to access the network. Therefore, keep the hard drive Startup Mode Set in BIOS unchanged.

Simultaneous network transfer operations

After you have installed the sender's computer operating system, drivers, and necessary software, you must use the network synchronization function to transmit the hard disk data of the sender to the receiver, to make the acceptor computer available, follow these steps:

Sender: the sender's computer uses the hard disk of the current computer as a sample and can be transmitted to other receivers in the network.

Acceptor: As the acceptor, receives data from the sender's hard disk to the local hard disk.

Sending operation process

1. Select the computer to be operated as the sender.

2. Press the power switch to start the computer. In the pop-up window, select the boot system interface as shown in 2-11, and press the F4 function key to enter the network simultaneous transmission interface, as shown in 2-18.

Sender connection Receiver

3. On the network simultaneous transmission page, click the "sender" button to enable the current computer to act as the sender. The logon interface of the receiver is displayed. All receivers in the network are connected, as shown in Figure 2-19.

Figure 2-19 display the acceptor logon information

After the acceptor is successfully connected, the icon is blue.

In this case, you can start the acceptor computer. For more information, see Chapter 2nd acceptor operation process.

If the acceptor computer is not enabled, you can click "start to wake up" to automatically wake up the computer that has logged on to the console. Click the "back" button to return to the selection interface of the network simultaneous transmission sender and receiver. Click the "finish" button to go to the "main sending interface ".

Note:

1. The wake-up function can only wake up the receiver that has been logged on last time. The receiver that has not logged on still needs to be manually started on. The receiver information list has been synchronized to all receivers of the last connection.

The connection receiver is automatically completed, and the computer name, IP address, group name, network status (KB/S), acceptor status, and MAC address of the connected receiver are displayed in the list.

Note:

1. Start the computer as the sending end. After selecting to start the system interface from 2 to 11, press the "F4" key to start the network simultaneous transmission function and enter the network simultaneous transmission interface.

2. If you have installed the hard disk protection system and set the administrator password, you will be prompted to enter the password when you select to enter the sender.

4. After logging on to the acceptor, click "finish". The main interface of the network simultaneous transmission sender is displayed, as shown in 2-20. You can perform operations on simultaneous network transmission.

Note:

If you click "delete acceptor" to delete some receivers, it will be deleted in the receiver information list at the same time. You can only manually start the system the next time you upload the same acceptor.

The main interface of the network simultaneous transmission sender provides all network control and operation options related to network simultaneous transmission in addition to the list of all logged-on receivers.

5. Click "set simultaneous transmission parameters". The simultaneous transmission parameter setting page is displayed, as shown in Figure 2-21.

Figure 2-21 simultaneous transmission parameter settings

In this case, you can set the network latency, the data transmission mode on the hard disk, enable the resumable data transfer function, and perform automatic operations after the simultaneous transmission at the receiving end.

Note:

The Automatic Operation Option function after simultaneous transmission at the receiving end only applies to intelligent simultaneous transmission, but does not apply to simultaneous transmission of CMOS parameters and protection parameters.

However, no matter the operation you set after the simultaneous transmission at the receiving end is to return to logon, shut down, or restart the following three cases, the computer will be automatically restarted without performing the operation according to your settings:

1. In the protection mode, data of one or more protection partitions is transmitted simultaneously.

2. If incremental data is available and there is no shadow system, the data can be intelligently transmitted in the protection mode.

3. Pass the "Hard Disk protection parameters" in the open or protected mode ".

If you select "enable power-off and resume feature", the computer will fail, shut down suddenly, or shut down when you are performing network synchronization. If the fault is recovered before the entire transmission process ends, if you start the instance manually and enter the network for simultaneous transmission, data will be continuously transmitted from the time when the previous power is down. If multiple computers in the network fail, data transmission starts from the slowest computer.

Note: We recommend that you set the network latency to 20 ~ 50 μs.

6. Click the "speed test" button on the main interface of the simultaneous transmission sender. The prompt dialog box shown in Figure 2-22 appears. The speed measurement function can detect the network condition and the transmission speed of the receiver connected to the network.

Figure 2-22 network speed measurement prompt

Click "OK". The system automatically detects the network speed of the connection receiver, and displays the network status parameters in the list box on the main interface of the network simultaneous transmission sender. Based on the network data receiving speed of the receiver, you can determine whether to remove the acceptor with a slow receiving speed.

Generally, when the network speed of the acceptor is less than 5000 KB/S, the acceptor can be removed to ensure the simultaneous transmission rate in the overall network environment. 1-gigabit switches and 1-gigabit network connections are faster. You can reduce the network latency of simultaneous transmission to increase the speed of simultaneous transmission.

7. you can use the "group settings" function to group all connected computers. You need to select the acceptor computer to be grouped, click the "group settings" button, and enter the group name of the local computer, if you select "Modify only local computer", only the Group of the sender computer is modified. If you select "modify all machines connected this time ", all connected computers are in this group.

Note:

1. the sender and acceptor can communicate with each other in the same group, but ungrouped receivers can connect to any sender, and ungrouped senders can also connect to any receiver.

2. if you want to use the group-to-pass function for network-based simultaneous transmission, delete the acceptor computers that are not in the group on the sending interface, and then set the group for the online computers.

8. Click "IP Address Allocation" on the main interface of the network transmission sender, as shown in Figure 2-23.

Figure 2-23 IP Address Allocation

Select the operating system, and then set the corresponding IP address on the right. Click "application" to apply the setting to the sending terminal. Select "unified Settings" to set the same IP address for all systems.

Click "Next" to go to the IP address simultaneous transfer interface, for example, 2-24.

<喎?http: www.bkjia.com kf ware vc " target="_blank" class="keylink"> VcD4KPHAgYWxpZ249 "CENTER"> Figure 2-24

After the IP Address allocation process is completed, the system returns to the main interface of the network simultaneous transmission sender.

You can add a computer name suffix to define the start position of the suffix. Check the auto-fill suffix. (For example, Student3 is named Student003.) This is conducive to the computer management of the entire data center.

You can select any system partition in the system list, that is, assign independent IP addresses to the specified system partition. Click "Send Settings" to complete the IP Address Allocation of the system. The IP address information of other system partitions remains unchanged.

After the IP Address allocation process ends, click "cancel" to return to the main interface of the simultaneous transmission sender.

Description

IP Address Allocation: You can enter a specified IP address or set it to DHCP for automatic allocation.

Note:

If you select DHCP, you need to prepare the DHCP server.

When you enter a specified IP address for allocation, consider the following:

1) starting IP Address: the network administrator specifies the local IP address as the starting IP address, for example, 192.168.0.1. After the IP address is assigned, the sending IP address is 192.168.0.1, and the receiving end is 192.168.0 based on its login serial number. (1 + 1), 192.168.0. (1 + 2), 192.168.1. (1 + 3 )......, that is, the IP address of the acceptor computer with the logon serial number 1 is allocated as 192.168.0.2, the IP address of the acceptor computer with the logon serial number 2 is 192.168.0.3, and so on.

2) subnet mask: the network administrator sets the same mask for computers in the same network segment of the LAN.

3) Default Gateway: the network administrator sets the default gateway address of the computer in the LAN.

4) computer name: If you select "Modify only local computer", the entered computer name will only be allocated to the sender of the operation, which has no impact on the acceptor computer in the connection. If you select "modify all machines connected to this connection", the entered computer name will be allocated to the sender of the operation, and the acceptor will name the computer name based on the accumulated number of Logon numbers. When assigning settings, you can select a computer name suffix. By default, the suffix is 0. For example, if the name of the sender computer is A and the suffix is 0, the sender computer name is A0, and the receiver computer name is A1, a2 ...; the name of your sending computer is A1, And the suffix is 2. The name of the sending end is A12, and the computer name of the receiving end is automatically named A13, a14 ....

5) You can select "Modify only the local machine" or "modify all machines connected this time ".

Note:

1. In Windows, the computer name that is named as a pure number cannot be recognized correctly. Please do not use a pure number to name the computer name.

2. After the IP address and computer name are allocated, the value is synchronized to all Windows operating systems of the computer.

9. After setting the IP address, click "smart simultaneous transmission" to send the same data to all logged-on receivers. before sending the data, you need to set the data transmission settings, as shown in Figure 2-25.

Figure 2-25 simultaneous transmission of Hard Disk Data

10. Select related data partitions for simultaneous transmission and click "OK" to start data transmission over the network. The progress of the simultaneous transmission process is displayed.

After the simultaneous transfer, the acceptor will shut down or restart based on user settings and return the logon status.

Note:

1. In order to avoid the slow speed of simultaneous network transfer, please disconnect the external network connection during operation, only ensure that the network needs to be implemented in the LAN

The network of the simultaneous transmission computer is smooth, which can improve the efficiency of simultaneous transmission. If you stop simultaneous transmission during the simultaneous transmission process, the original system and hard disk data of the receiver will be damaged.

2. when the network condition is poor or the hard disk read/write speed of an acceptor is slow, you can choose to disconnect the acceptor by checking the data transmission status, to ensure the simultaneous transmission Effect of most receivers.

11. Click "CMOS Data simultaneous transmission" on the main interface of the network simultaneous transmission sender. During simultaneous transmission of CMOS, the basic CMOS and extended CMOS can be simultaneously transmitted to the receiver computer connected to the network. During the operation, a system prompt is displayed, and click "OK" for CMOS data transmission.

Note:

After transmitting the CMOS information, manually restart all the receiving end computers twice to make the CMOS information take effect. Do not modify any CMOS information of the receiver during the restart process.

The CMOS Data Transmission Interface is the same as the data transmission interface on the hard disk. However, because the CMOS data generally has a small capacity, the simultaneous transmission will soon end.

Acceptor operation process

1. Select the computer that serves as the receiving end, press the power switch to start the computer, and press the F4 key repeatedly when the Lenovo logo appears on the screen to enter the Lenovo hard disk protection system installation interface.

2. Click "Network simultaneous transmission" to enable the network simultaneous transmission function. The network simultaneous transmission operation interface is displayed. If the sending end has been configured in the network, it will automatically log on to the sending end as the receiving end. If the sender is not configured in the network, the sender and acceptor interfaces are displayed. Click "acceptor.

3. In this case, you do not need to perform any operations on the receiver. You only need to operate the sender computer and wait for the sender computer to connect to the local receiver. The process of connecting the receiving end to the sending end is 2-26.

Figure 2-26 the receiving end shows that the receiving end is logged on to the sending end.
