Enable quick, simple and complete data protection for your virtual machines with VMware data Recovery, a disk-based backup and recovery solution. VMware Data Recovery is your first line of the defense for Data protection. It's fully integrated with VMware VCenter Server to enable centralized and efficient management of the backup jobs and also in Cludes data de-duplication to save in disk storage for your backups.

2.Easy to deploy, since VMware Data Recovery are a virtual machine this runs on VMware ESX and ESXi hosts (easy to deploy because vdr is a virtual machine running on ESXi )

3.Restore individual files or entire images as needed (can restore individual files or mirrors on demand)

VDR uses built-in deduplication technology to save a lot of disk space

each VCenter Server can support up to 10 data recovery backup provisioning, while each backup device protects 100 virtual machines

STEP1 Installing the client plug-in

before installing the plugin , the VCenter server must be running in the environment.

The Data recovery plug-in connects to the backup device via port 22024

Make sure the plug-in is enabled

STEP2 Installing a backup device

backing up devices using ports 902 connecting to ESXi

*.OVF file on CD D:\VMwareDataRecovery-ovf-x86_64\, deploy backup virtual machine

STEP3 Configuring the Dr IP

because The data recovery is based on the CentOS operating system

Start later settings IP address. Username and password root/[email protected]

can be done by DHCP to obtain an IP address dynamically, then Web Access can configure a static IP address
