Today in Win7 shelves a IIS7 server, found not to support the RMVB video file playback, the solution is very simple, please continue to look down.
Add a MIME type to the IIS7 MIME type, and the file name extension is:. rmvb MIME Type: Application/vnd.rn-realmedia
The solution from Baidu Experience:
Microsoft's IIS7 application server defaults to file downloads that do not support RMVB format, and prompts 404 server errors when accessing links to such files, that is, the file cannot be found. By configuring the IIS7, you can support RMVB format downloads without having to install video playback software.
1. Start-"Administrative Tools-" Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, enter the main interface of IIS Manager tool, select the site to configure, and select "MIME Type" feature to enter.
2. The MIME type feature is used to configure the file types that the server can use as static files and the applications associated with them. The list of file types is sorted alphabetically by A-Z, and click "Add" to add the new file type RMVB extension.
3. In the new window, fill in ". rmvb" at the file extension, and write "Application/vnd.rn-realmedia" at the MIME type, OK. Instead of restarting the IIS service, IIS can now support downloading of rmvb format files. If you also need to support other types of files, you can also refer to the configuration, noting the different ways in which MIME types and extensions are written.
4. When you add a MIME type successfully, you can also edit and delete individual MIME types.
