Let PHP support MCrypt in Mac OS X

    • Download and unzip the libmcrypt-2.5.8.tar.gz.
    • Execute the following command at the terminal:
    • Tar zxvf libmcrypt-2.5.8.tar.gz
      CD libmcrypt-2.5.8/
      ./configure--disable-posix-threads--enable-static
      Make
      sudo make install
    • Download and unzip php source file php-5.4.33.tar.gz. The PHP version preinstalled in Mac OS X 10.6.3 is 5.4.30, so you need to download this version.
    • Execute the following command at the terminal:
      Tar zxvf php-5.3.4.tar.gz
      CD Php-5.3.4/ext/mcrypt
      Phpize
      ./configure
      Make
    • sudo cp modules/mcrypt.so/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20100525/

sudo vi/etc/php.ini

Extension=/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20100525/mcrypt.so

no-debug-non-zts-20100525 varies by PHP version
