Windows Server 2012 Data Center and Standard Edition
Question 1. What are the new features of Windows Server 2012?
Windows Server 2012 brings our company's accumulated experience of building and operating a public cloud to a private cloud server platform. The new licensing and encapsulation patterns make it easier to manage workloads in highly virtualized public and private cloud environments. Windows Server 2012 uses a more consistent licensing model and reduces the number of versions through common functionality. which includes
Two versions, Standard Edition and Data Center Edition.
A license can cover up to two physical processors.
The difference between versions is only the virtualization power (standard version Two, the number of Data Center Edition unlimited).
Question 2. What is the difference between the Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition and the Windows Server 2012 Data Center Edition?
The Standard Edition provides the same functionality as the Datacenter Edition, and the only difference between the two versions is the number of virtual machines (VMS) that can be supported. The Standard Edition allows you to run up to two virtual machines on up to two processors (refer to the use of virtual machines for the use of power documentation for the product). The data center version allows you to run an unlimited number of virtual machines on up to two processors.
Question 3. Does the Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition have the same functionality as the Windows Server 2012 Data Center Edition?
Yes. All the features available in the Data Center Edition are included in the Standard Edition, including high-availability features such as failover clustering. The only difference between two versions is virtualization power.
Question 4. Can Windows Server 2012 join System Center 2012 and the enrollment for Core infrastructure (ECI) model?
Yes. As part of the Microsoft Private Cloud licensing model, Windows Server 2012 uses exactly the same license and packet structure as System Center 2012 and enrollment for Core infrastructure (ECI). which includes
Two versions, Standard Edition and Data Center Edition.
A license can cover up to two physical processors.
The difference between versions is only the virtualization power (standard version Two, the number of Data Center Edition unlimited).
