Linked server fourth, using MS SQL7

The first two articles in the server are the methods of joining Oracle, and I've tried using ODBC methods.

Method:

First, build a System DSN, I can only try the System DSN
Second, the first two methods to add linked SERVER

With Enterprise Manager, provider name should
Select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC

Tested successfully on UNIX+ORACLE7 and NT4+SP5+SQL7

I've also set up a SQL7 with sysbase, but it's surprising that SQL7 customers can point directly to Sysbase servers.

Method:

First, install the Sysbase client on the local server and set it up, can be linked to the server
Second, open SQL7 Client network UTILITY, add server, address directly
Point to the IP address of the Sysbase server, with the same settings as the port number and Sysbase client
Third, add linked server with the same method as adding MSSQL

Tested successfully on Unix+sysbase and NT4+SP5+SQL7

The easiest way to access SQL6.5 in SQL7 is to set up a 6.5-server join in the Client Network Utility.
One thing, though, is that the join can only be used in Query Analyzer but not managed in Enterprise Manager.
