I don't plan to use it because Fedora Core 2 breaks the Bad Name of the Windows XP boot partition (although there is a solution ). Use the original Red Hat Linux 9.
After installing rh9, download the latest 2.6.8.1.
Preparations include:
Install the new mod-init-tools, NFS, procps, and so on. The specific version is described in prediction/changes.
Another important thing is to upgrade RPM 4.2 to RPM 4.2.1, which is not described in changes.
Make mrproper
Make gconfig
Make
Make modules_install install
After compilation, there are several problems to solve:
2.6 change the USB Module to uhci-HCD and EHCI-HCD in the kernel. Therefore, modify the USB Module in/etc/modprobe. conf.
Iptables startup is also faulty. You must add modprobe ip_tables and modprobe ipt_reject to/etc/init. d/iptables.
Add modprobe nfsd to the nfs startup file.
I have something special to configure myself. I use dual-card dual-Screen Graphics, so I need to configure it in xf86config.
