Linux schematic and PCB
The famous Allegro and the classic Protel 99SE in Windows do not support the Linux operating system. To develop a Linux driver, you must check the principle diagram and PCB.
There are three common practices:
1. The host uses the Windows system and installs Linux in virtual machines such as VMWARE so that you can use the software in Windows to view the schematic diagram and PCB;
2. In turn, install a Windows Virtual Machine in Linux. You can also prepare a Windows-only machine to view the schematic diagram;
3. Developers using pure Linux systems will try to install some schematic PCB software through sudo apt-get install, but some lightweight software cannot be compared with Windows;
4. Another way is to convert the schematic PCB into a PDF file in the Linux system. However, it is easy to use without professional software;
5. Recently I found a schematic PCB software called EAGLE that supports three operating systems at the same time.
