I. Introduction

DNS is a service that resolves a domain name to an IP address. For example, www.turbolinux.com.cn can get 210.77.38.126 through DNS resolution.
Bind is a DNS service program in linux. bind-utils is a set of DNS Toolkit provided by bind software, which contains some DNS-related tools. mainly include dig, host, nslookup, and nsupdate. these tools can be used for domain name resolution and DNS debugging.

 

II,Bind-utils Installation

1. rpm package Mode

Rpm-ivh bind-utils.xxx.rpm

2. Install the source code package

Http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/cvs/server/bind.html

 

III,Bind-utils usage
