Linux cluster principle and installation configuration we have a lot of problems to solve when using a Linux cluster. In fact, the most important problem lies in the principle of Linux cluster.
Solution and installation process. Here, we will learn how to install Linux clusters. this will be of great help to the subsequent work. Principle of www.2cto.com Linux cluster the Linux cluster system consists of cluster nodes and cluster manager. A cluster node, sometimes referred to as a node, server, or server node, is a system that provides resources for processing. it performs the actual work of the cluster. Generally, it must be configured to become a part of the cluster, and the application software of the cluster must be run. Applications can be cluster-specific software or standard software designed for distributed systems. The Linux cluster manager binds nodes to form a logical structure of a single system. it is used to break down tasks to all nodes. The cluster has different types for different reasons. the most direct reason for establishing a Linux cluster is to share CPU resources, balance loads among multiple machines, and obtain more system reliability, or provide a backup system (switchover) when the host fails ). Through the analysis of related software, the function of implementing cluster load is implemented through traffic management. the specific implementation methods are as follows: Direct routing (Direct Forwarding) and network address translation (NAT) and Tunneling ). Direct routing (Direct Forwarding) is used when the computer participating in the cluster and the computer acting as the control and management are in the same network segment. When the computer that controls the management receives the request packet, it directly sends it to the node that participates in the cluster. Its advantage is that the traffic returned to the customer is not controlled by the host, and the speed is fast and the cost is low. You may be familiar with network address translation (NAT. The address converter can have a legitimate IP address accessed by the outside world. it modifies the address of the outbound packet from the VPC. the outside world looks like the package is from the address converter itself. When the external package is sent to the converter, it can determine which node should the package be sent to the intranet. Its advantage is that it saves IP addresses and can disguise the interior. Its disadvantage is that the efficiency is low because the traffic returned to the requester must go through the converter. Tunneling is a forwarding mechanism used when nodes in a Linux cluster are not in the same CIDR block. it encapsulates IP packets in other network traffic. From the security perspective, VPN or leased line in tunneling technology should be used. Linux clusters provide TCP/IP-based Web services, Mail services, News services, DNS services, and Proxy servers. Next I will use a specific product TurboLinux Cluster Server to implement a Server load balancer Linux Cluster system for providing Web and FTP services. Linux cluster planning www.2cto.com 1. provides services: Web, FTP. 2. build a complete load balancing system, so that more functions can be used. 3. four servers are used, three of which are TurboLinux Cluster Server and one is Windows 2000 Sever. linux cluster installation 1. to install Turbo Linux on three servers, you also need to install Apache and wu-ftpd, because Linux clusters need to provide such services. After the installation is complete, restart the machine and attach the optical drive to the/mnt/cdrom directory. /TLCS-install, and then complete the installation as prompted. 2. install Windows 2000 Server on one Server and Internet Information Server 5.0. configure Linux cluster manager 1. set the IP address, subnet mask, and route of each server to enable network communication, and set a TurboLinux Server as a DNS server so that it can forward and reverse resolution. In this example, the server name is pc1 and the domain is test.com. 2. configure Cluster Server. run TurboLinuxclusteradmin. The settings are as follows (the connection character is the menu option or its lower-level menu, and the setting is after the colon): (1) ClusterServer Configuration-Cluster Services-Application Stability Agents: http is the default service and does not need to be set. Ftp:/usr/lib/ftpAgent (2) ClusterServer Configuration -- Cluster Services -- Service Settings: http, 80: TCP, sticky. ftp, 21: TCP, ftp. (3) ClusterServer Configuration -- Servers Configuration: pc1 (pc1.test.com), direct, ping pc2 (pc2.test.com), direct, ping pc3 (pc3.test.com), direct, ping pc4 (pc4.test.com), direct, ping (4) ClusterServer Configuration -- Advance Traffic Managers: Advance Traffic Manager System: pc1.te St.com Advance Traffic Manager Setting: default value (5) ClusterServer Configuration à Virtual Severs: Host: pc1.test.com sendmail: master @ pc1 .test.com Server pool name: Server Group1 (6) clusterServer Configuration à Globle Settings: network Settings: netmask 255.255.255.0 configure each node in the cluster 1. configure the Windows 2000 Server node because the TurboLinux Cluster Server itself can be automatically synchronized by tools, you only need to configure Windows 2000 Server. (1) start → Set → control panel → add new hardware → next → Add/troubleshoot devices → add new devices → NO, then select hardware from the list → other devices → Microsoft: microsoft Loopback Adapter → complete. (2) right-click the desktop and choose "network neighbor"> "properties"> "TCP/IP". set the IP address, default gateway, and subnet mask (255.255.255.0 first ). (3) Start → run → regedit → find the items related to Microsoft Loopback Adapter in the registry, and change the subnet mask to 255.255.255.255. (4) configure the system to run appropriate services and configure the configuration suitable for cluster manager management so that it can be used in the control manager. 2. configure the Turbo Linux Cluster Server node (1) in the management menu, select tlcs_content _ sync to execute content synchronization, enter the node password to be configured, and copy the service content in the Cluster manager to the node. (2) select tlcs _ config _ sync in the management menu to execute synchronization settings, enter the node password to be configured, and copy the settings in the cluster manager to the node. At this point, we can see the running status on cluster manager PC1. we can connect the client to the switch connected to the server, and the client can request Web and FTP services.
