Linux enthusiasts should open their arms to the closed source software.

Both Microsoft and Apple have laid the groundwork for the acceptance of open-source products, and even Apple has developed an open-source Web page showing all of its products that it has opened in 2015, and Microsoft has publicly stated that "open source Windows is absolutely possible". If you consider the state of the enterprise computing community, you will clearly find that the non-open source products are in a precarious situation. The ominous omen has appeared in front of me ... Open source has won, running some of the world's most powerful networks and systems. If the big software vendors want to share a slice of the market, they have to play the game open. In addition, Microsoft and Apple can no longer earn a lot of money from the operating system. Two companies even deliver the upgraded version of the major version for free. Business models that profit from the platform have heard the knell ringing. But wait ... Is it hard for Linux enthusiasts to open their arms to closed source software? That is true. Let me take it very carefully. Mix it up Most of the software I use often is open source software. LibreOffice, GIMP, Audacity, Openshot, Thunderbird, Clementine ... These are open source applications that I use every day. However, there are several applications that are closed source software. Chrome, Spotify customer software, Google Apps and Insync ... They are all closed sources. However, all of this software can be run on elementary OS Freya, which is completely open source. So, I usually use the open source software and the hybrid of the closed sources software. Many people will tell me that I can change those few closed source software into open software. Chromium can handle Chrome's tasks, Grive2 can replace insync,spotify Web client software, and several software combinations can replace Google Apps. Of course, this is entirely possible. What I need, however, is to be able to work efficiently and reliably. I am happy to give up those closed source software, switch to open source software, if there is the corresponding open source software. Yes, Chromium should be able to temporarily replace Chrome, but I've discovered more than once that Chromium and Google Apps don't always get along very well. To tell you the truth, some applications are indispensable to me, and they happen to be closed-source software. Because those closed-source applications can run on Linux, my daily tasks are handled smoothly. If those apps don't work properly in the Linux ecosystem, I'm too lazy to use them. The problem is that they can be used normally. That's why I use them. It is because I (and many others) use them that they exist. The ideal is beautiful . If every software is open source software, that would be great. Imagine all the possibilities. The sky is no longer the limit. However, this scene will not happen. Although we are likely to live in a world where platforms are open platforms, it does not mean that the operating system is all open. Some companies still need to be profitable to be open-minded, and they fully believe that if open source core products are not profitable. These companies are not Microsoft or Apple (they can rely on the profits from hardware or services), so those applications are the products they rely on for their livelihood. Because of this, and because companies like Microsoft and Apple have come to realize the reality (the "platform" wants to keep its importance, the only way out is to open it), open-source fans are the time to embrace closed applications. However, this does not mean that you are not hopeful about the idea of freedom. Instead, the tools that are best suited to a task are the tools you should use, whether it's open source, closed sources, or a combination of the two. If you do not consider the closed source tool, you may miss some very good applications. In addition, the more you use closed-source applications in an open source environment, the more software you can use. This is what I call the "reverse Dream land". Someone buys them before someone develops them. I have seen this scene more and more recently. A new piece of software will get my attention, and if I look at it, I'll find that they're developing their tools for all platforms, including Linux. The importance of doing so cannot be ignored. Think about it, many companies are publishing source code for Linux, and we don't have to petition, email or solicit. My friends, this is the symbol of the times. Maybe they didn't publish the source code, but the application could run on the platform we chose. Now the battle slogan for the closed-source software can be silenced. Open source has served me for more than 10 years and I have never wanted to use a closed source desktop or server platform. Why? Because I find that Linux is the best platform for me to get the job done efficiently and reliably. However, I will use any tool that can do the work on those platforms. Closed source tools, open source tools, or a combination of both, will be used. If there is a viable open source alternative for closed source applications on the market, I would be happy to replace the closed source software.
