Linux fedora13, Windows 7 and Windows XP multi-system installation

The above three operating systems are installed on the notebook due to programming learning and usage needs. The installation sequence is Windows XP, Windows 7, and Fedora 13.

1. Windows Installation

Install XP first and then install win7. It is easy to understand according to their release time, but there are some differences during installation. When installing XP, you can change the optical drive to start in the bios and then install it on CD. When Windows 7 is installed, you need to install the optical drive in the XP environment. It will be restarted several times without worrying about it. After the installation, the boot options will change to two. The default boot option is XP, the waiting time is 30 seconds. If you want to change the OS, go to Windows 7. My computer properties-advanced system settings-advanced-startup and fault recovery settings. You can change the default OS and display the OS list time, it is best not to change the time to 0, because the other system will not be able to enter. If it is changed to 0, Please insert the win7 installation disk, and then the optical drive starts the computer to repair the system, enter bcdedit/timeout N in the Command Prompt window. N indicates the number of seconds to wait.

2. Install fedora13

Next, let's take a big note-install fedora13. You can refer to other documents for installation instructions. After the installation is successful, the default Operating System will become fedora. Press "c" to display another option "other" before entering the system. After selecting "other", you can see the options for Windows XP and Windows 7, however, ntdlr is missing.

Enter fedora, press CTRL + ALT + F2 to enter the command line mode, select the root user to log on, and enter VI/etc/grub. conf: press the values key and change to insert mode. You can delete the hiddenmenu to display the menu. You can change the number of row 0 of default to determine the system from which to start. 0 indicates the first system, 1 indicates the second system, and so on. There are two titles: fedora and other. You can change them to your desired names. Each title is followed by a line of root (hd0, 0), but the parameters are different. Change this line originally under Title other. The first parameter indicates the hard disk number and the second parameter indicates the partition number. For example, my notebook only has one hard disk and Windows XP is installed on the C drive, I changed it to (hd0, 0 ). After the modification, Press ESC to exit the editing mode. Enter: WQ to save and exit. Reboot shows two options: fedora and windows. After windows is selected, there are two options: XP and win7.
