Linux File Sharing for virtual machines

To share data between VM linux and windows, VMware Workstation provides a virtual tool named VMware-tools. The following are the implementation steps: 1. Open the VM (with version 6.5 installed) and start the linux Virtual Machine (redhat enterprise 4 ). 2. Select the VMware menu option VM -- Install VMware Tools. 3. in linux, run the following command: mkdir/mnt/cdrom mount/dev/cdrom/mnt/cdrom4, cd/mnt/cdrom kernel, and vmwarw.ls-7.8.5-156735. i386.rpm. The other is a text file. Copy the two files to/tmp. Cp VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.tar.gz VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.i386.rpm/tmp5, enter/tmp (cd/tmp), install VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.i386.rpm (rpm-ivh VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.i386.rpm) 6, execute the command tar zxvf VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.tar.gz, go to the vmware-tools-distrib directory, discover vmware-install.pl files. Run the command:./vmware-install.pl then press enter until it is complete. 7. Open/tmp and you will find a hgfs folder. 8. Set sharing: Open the menu option VM -- settings -- options and find a shared Folders in it. Select ALWAYS enabled, ADD, and set the host path (D: /vmlinux_share ). OK9. Uninstall the optical drive. Umount/dev/cdrom10, you can enjoy sharing data. Cd/mnt/hgfs/vmlinux_share
