Linux Environment Setup | Teach you how to install a Linux virtual machine

Objective

As a Linux engineer, the Linux environment is sure to work for operations, applications, and driving directions. One way to get a Linux environment is to replace the computer system directly with a Linux system, but we are accustomed to the Windows system, switching directly to the Linux system will be more or less inconvenient places. Another way to compare local tyrants is to buy a second computer and replace the system with a Linux system. But this method is more hurtful than the wallet.

A more eclectic solution is to install a Linux virtual machine on your own computer. The so-called virtual machine, is in your existing computer and then virtual one or more computers, can be understood as computers in the computer.

For example, you can install a window computer in a virtual machine, or install a Linux computer. The purpose of a virtual machine is to help you virtual out of the various resources needed to run a real computer, and then you can run other operating systems on it.

Installation of virtual machines

The first thing to download is the installation package for the virtual machine, which is the latest version of VMware 14.1.1. There are three ways of downloading:

After the virtual machine installation package is downloaded, install it on your computer. This installation process is simple, the next step is good.

Download of Ubuntu images

After the virtual machine is installed, this is the time to complete the first step. It's like buying a computer, but it doesn't have an operating system installed. Linux distributions have many versions to choose from, such as: Ubuntu,fedora,centos,opensuse, and so on. For starters, using Ubuntu is a good fit, because it's all well-integrated, without the hassle of installing it.

There are three mirroring methods for obtaining Ubuntu18.04 64-bit operating systems:

• 1. Ubuntu website;
• 2. Baidu Software Center;

After downloading the image to put in a place (such as the desktop), you can only find the good, after the installation can delete it.

Virtual Machine hardware Configuration

Before the installation of the virtual machine, you need to configure the computer, such as how much memory allocated to it, CPU, the number of cores, the type of network, and so on, as we save the machine.

• 1. After the virtual machine is installed, the interface looks like this: <br/>

• 2. In the dialog box that pops up, select Customize, and then click Next: <br/>

• 3. In "Virtual Machine hardware Compatibility" Select the default, direct next: <br/>

• 4. In "Install guest operating System" Select "Install operating system later" and then click Next: <br/>
     <br/>

• 5. Still choose the default, direct next: <br/>

     <br/>

• 6. In this step "name the virtual machine", give your virtual machine a name, such as UBUNTU_LX, and then choose the location to install. The virtual machine produces a larger file size, so the disk where you choose the location has the best remaining space. <br/>

• 7. The number of virtual machine processors and the kernel are selected 2, which is sufficient for development. This parameter can be modified even if it is not enough. <br/>

     <br/>

• 8. Virtual machine Memory Selection 2048M, that is 2G, it is best to choose 1g,2g,4g,8g, do not choose 3G such. This parameter can also be modified later. <br/>

     <br/>

• 9. The following steps can be directly "next", disk space 20G is not enough to choose 40G, this is dynamic, that is, not all of a sudden take up your disk 40G, but how much to occupy. <br/>

Ubuntu Image Installation

After the virtual machine hardware is configured, the Ubuntu operating system is then formally installed. <br/>

• 1. Click "Edit Virtual machine settings" in the circle.

• 2. In the popup menu, select "cd/dvd (SATA) from the left, then select" Use ISO image file "on the right, then click Browse to find the Ubuntu image. <br/>

• 3. Then click OK, then click on "Turn on virtual machine".
• 4. After the virtual machine is turned on, select "install ubuntu". The language selection on the left refers to the system language. We do develop, suggest language and so on choose English. <br/>

• 5. The next step is to select the keyboard layout. The layout we use here is American Standard, so we choose Chinese (US). <br/>

• 6. The next step is directly default: <br/>

• 7. In "installation type" is also the default, directly click "install now", after the pop-up window click "continue":<br/>

• 8. Click Big China on "where is you?" map, then click "continue":<br/>

     <br/>

• 9. In "who is you?" fill in the basic personal information, and then click "continue", the next step into the download and installation process, the whole process takes about 20 minutes. <br/>

• 10. After installation, select "restart now" and restart the virtual machine. At this point, both the virtual machine and the Linux system have been installed. <br/>
