Source: Internet

Previously, lts did not have a deep understanding of ubuntu update support. It has been using Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick and is very satisfied with resource usage and efficiency.

The software cannot be installed with sudo apt-Get install today. The error message is as follows:

The first reaction was that Ubuntu's support expired, but previously it was understood that it was "no longer providing official software updates", but Ubuntu 10.10 should be available for the released version. Here is my understanding error.

Access: http://cn.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/ view, there is no maverick support. In addition, the long-term support of http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/ubuntuis, especially:

Determine the problem and solution:

1. Upgrade the new version. Difficult, tossing, likes not considered.

2. Use the old version to update the source. However, the maverick directory is no longer available and the software cannot be downloaded.

Google problem solving: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1127305.html. the historical issue mentioned in this article is Ubuntu 7.04 feisty.
Feisty has expired and no longer support. Therefore, the repos have been moved to http://Old-releases.ubuntu.com /.You need to replace the current ReposInYour/etc/APT/sources. list with the new repos, http://Old-releases.ubuntu.com /.Deb http://Old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu feisty main restricted

[Old-release solution] solves this problem effectively, but after trying, the foreign servers are too slow and almost intolerable.

3. Considering that Ubuntu 10.04 is an lts version and there is little gap between 10.10 and 10.04, can I use source Update to install the software.

The update source of 10.04 lucid is used for testing. The software is successfully installed. This solution is currently used.

the Linux update support solution has not yet been thoroughly understood. When installing the system version, you must consider long-term updates and subsequent upgrades. The next step is to upgrade to 12.04.
