Linux: how to install Shutter on CentOS
Q: I want to try the Shutter screen program on my CentOS desktop, but when I try to install Shutter with yum, it always tells me "No shutter package is available ". How can I install Shutter on CentOS?
Shutter is an open-source (GPLv3) screen tool for Linux desktops. It is packaged with a large number of user-friendly features, making it one of the most powerful screen programs in Linux. You can use Shutter to capture a rule area, a window, the entire desktop screen, or even a webpage from any private address. You can also use its built-in image editor to edit captured images, apply different effects, and export images to different image formats (svg, pdf, and ps ), you can also upload images to a public image host or an FTP site.
Shutter has no pre-built software packages on CentOS (as of version 7. Fortunately, a third-party RPM named Nux Dextop provides the Shutter package. Enable the Nux Dextop software library () on CentOS, and then install it using the following command:
$ Sudo yum -- enablerepo = nux-dextop install shutter
