The way Linux installs fonts is actually very simple, which is to call

Fc-cache-f-V

command, in fact we can add nothing directly to call this command can see it will go to/usr/share/fonts/truetype and other directories as well as your own personal user directory ~/.fonts/~/.local/share/fonts ~/. Fontconfig ~/.cache/fontconfig, such as directory for font file TTF index lookup, when the font has been found to complete the addition of the font.

So it's easy, download the Monaco.ttf file online, put it in any of the above mentioned folders, and then run a FC-CACHE-FV to complete the font additions.
