Article Title: Linux is the security manager of the Window system. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Includes basic categories such as desktop applications, Linux system management, kernel research, embedded systems, and open source.
Recently, the windows virus has become more and more rampant, and the anti-virus Alliance often "kill the virus" and leave the seeds of terror. In today's world, information is transmitted at the speed of light, and the same is true for viruses. Anti-virus software has gradually begun to play the role of "Trojan Horse :-(
On the other hand, your computer will be broken by the virus database even if it is not killed by viruses. Security guard constantly monitors the system (including every operation you perform) and turns your "Mercedes-Benz" into "stupid ".
One of my machines was full of viruses, and the last attack destroyed a hard disk partition. I don't want to take the virus any more. Instead, I directly use vmware for linux. You may suspect: "Is this anti-virus? I have never heard of vmware as an anti-virus software ." Well, vmware does not take drugs, but it can completely isolate viruses-it is better than any anti-virus software!
The following are the main steps.
1. Run vmware and create a win98 virtual hard disk under the linux File System. The size is 2 GB or 1 GB. This hard disk is used as the primary master of the VM, that is, the C: disk under win98. Then install win98, ie6.0, office2000, and some common tools such as ultraedit, flashget, and winzip on the Virtual Machine to avoid viruses. Then exit win98 from the VM.
2. Execute the configuration editor command in the settings menu of vmware to create the second virtual hard disk, which is 80 Mb in size (or adjust it according to your needs ). This hard disk is used as the secondary slave of the virtual machine. This disk is your place to store your personal data in the future. Install the cdrom device at the secondary master location. You may also need to mount the previous virus-containing hard disk and mount it to the primary slave location as D: disk. Then click power on to start the instance. After Entering win98 normally, do not do anything else and immediately exit win98. Because the virus is on the D: disk and it has no control, the system (C: disk) is still safe at this time.
Now, this reliable system has been developed. You don't want it to be damaged by viruses in the future. What should I do? You can use vmware to freeze your virtual hard disk. Run the configuration editor command in the settings menu of vmware to change the properties of C: disk and D: disk from permanent (permanent) to nonpermanent (non-permanent ). Change the 80 m hard drive attribute from permanent (permanent) to undoable (abolished ). After the change, you don't need to start win98. You just need to exit vmware. So far, you can rest assured. What does the nonpermanent (non-permanent) attribute mean? That is, all write operations will be abolished and ignored. This means that your C: disk cannot be changed by a virus, and the D: disk cannot be killed. However, you can change the D: disk attribute back to permanent (permanent) in the future when you want to prevent viruses ). Similarly, when you want to install new software, you have to change the C: disk attribute. Otherwise, you cannot write the C: disk. However, after installing the new software, remember to immediately freeze the C: disk, that is, change the attribute to nonpermanent (non-permanent ).
Now, your C: disk has entered the safe and will no longer be hurt by viruses. Sometimes, you are temporarily infected with viruses from the network or on a floppy disk. It doesn't matter. After win98 is disabled, it will come in again next time, and all viruses will no longer exist (a maximum of 80 m E: disks will not attack ). To prevent temporary viruses on the network or floppy disk from destroying your E: disk, you can write a script in linux to automatically back up your E: disk every time you run vmware. You can make 5 or 10 backups to ensure security. In this way, the temporary viruses can only destroy the work you have done after the current Boot. You can comfort yourself and say, "The Machine is nothing more than a power failure, and the loss is not big, I am looking for the last automatic backup ......"
By the way, the above-made clean C: disk image files can also be copied to other computers, eliminating the trouble of installing configurations multiple times :-)
The above process is carried out in linux without any anti-virus software (any anti-virus software is not as reliable as this method ). Instead of killing a virus, you never fear it. In vmware, even the virus that attacks the motherboard BIOS like CIH is not feasible. The virus has left you alone and is buried. It is completely drowned in the sea of vmware and linux !!
The virus said to win98, "Surrender! I want to completely destroy your hard disk !"
Vmware said to the virus: "The system is catching up, and it is always yellow. You are still good at me !"
To save windows, linux is required. It's fresh! I don't know what the fans of windows are doing?
