Linux Kernel 4.6 4th maintenance versions released
GuideYesterday, Greg Kroah-Harman, a prestigious Linux Kernel developer, was very happy to announce the fourth maintenance version of Linux 4.6 Kernel. Linux Kernel 4.6.4 is currently the best Kernel version for the GNU/Linux operating system. Although not all Linux releases have switched to this branch, but krohaman always recommends upgrading from Linux 4.5 to Linux 4.6 branch as soon as possible. On the other hand, the development team also upgraded to Linux 4.4.15 today for users who prefer to use the Long-Term Support Branch.
"Today I announce the release of Linux 4.6.4 Kernel. All 4.6 kernel users must upgrade as soon as possible. The upgraded 4.6.y git tree can be found in git: // git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-4.6.y, or visit kernel.org via web browser for git: http://git.kernel.org /? P = linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git; a = summary ."
In addition to regular driver updates (including crypto and USB), Linux Kernel 4.6.4 also improves the network stack, including AX.25 data link layer protocol, IPv4/v6 protocol, kernel connection multiplexing (KCM), bridge and packet scheduler. There are 36 modifications in number, 216 inserts and 98 deletes, which is the smallest update of Linux 4.6 branch.
