If you are installing directly with default values:

Rpmbuild--rebulid xxx.src.rpm is compiled and packaged only and requires manual installation of rpm packages.

Rpmbuil--recompile xxx.src.rpm compiled, packaged and installed.

generally is the first rpm-i xxx.src.rpm will SRPM files to be unpacked into the/urs/src/redhat directory , and then modify the configuration file, and then compile the installation.
