Start learning the Linux operating system today, take notes here, in case you can easily recall.

I learned to install a VMware virtual machine when I was learning the Linux operating system.

① to download the VMware virtual machine and install it first.

② Download the Liunx version. I use the CentOS6.3 version here.

③ start the VMware virtual machine and put the CentOS6.3 image file that you downloaded in the second step in the virtual machine settings.

④ Step-by-step, fool-like execution can go on.

PS: The minimum CentOS requirement is 628MB when choosing memory capacity. Must be below this number.

Hardware Device file name
IDE Hard disk /DEV/HD[A-D]
SCSI/SATA/USB Hardware /DEV/SD[A-P]
Drive /dev/cdrom or/dev/sro
Floppy disk /DEV/FD[0-1]
Printer (25-pin) /DEV/LP[0-2]
Printer (USB) /DEV/USB/LP[0-15]

"/" is the root directory.

"Dev" is a sub-directory where the files are all hardware files

/root/install.log stores the packages and their version information installed in the system.

/root/install.log.syslog stores the event records that were left during the installation process.

/ROOT/ANACONDE-KS.CFG records the option information set during installation in the format of the Kickstart configuration file.

I did not operate directly in the virtual machine while learning the Linux operating system. I am using another software to operate. (SECURECRT)

Configure the IP address in the virtual machine before using the SECURECRT software.

① Select the virtual machine settings to modify the network adapter to host-only mode (host-only). At this point the virtual network card is selected VMnet1.

② knows the IP address and can then be configured with Ifconfig eth0 in VMware. Because my IP is 192.168.30.1, configure the time to be in a network segment. The 192.168.30.2 I configured here

③ configuration completed with Ifconfig can see the relevant information, then you use the local cmd to ping the IP you just configured, if you can ping the configuration is successful.

④ping can be used after the SECURECRT software to log in Liunx. Enter the Linux user name and password to log in. Log in after using Ifconfig test.

That's it for today.
