Linux mint 13 Root Login

I recently re-installed my computer. At first I got the latest version of ubuntu12.04, and found that the unity interface was really bad (not used to) and it was too ugly to switch back to the gnome interface, so I thought of the Linux mint release version and installed the latest mint13.
