Linux Mysql root Password forgot, initialization, mysqlroot

Some time ago, the root password of the mysql database in a test environment could not be found. For an unimportant database, the installer may have neglected to manually restore the password. Record and make remarks

1. Enter my. cnf and add skip-grant-tables to the [mysqld] field.

2. restart mysql service mysqld restart

3. Enter mysql with no password to change the password

Mysql-uroot-p

Mysql> update mysql. user set PASSWORD = password ('new password') where user = 'root'

Mysql> flush privileges

Mysql> quit

4. Delete the skip-grant-tables in mysql. cnf.

5. Restart the mysql service.

Service mysqld restart

Done!
