Find command

File Finder tools in Linux are commonly found in locate and find as well as whereis. They are suitable for different occasions, such as Whereis can only be used to search for programs of binary files, source code files and man manuals and other related files, Find and local can look up all the files on the disk (not including the virtual files in the proc and SYS directories). The Find command finds files by traversing the disk, looks for a longer time, and consumes a certain amount of resources, and locate and Whereis are very fast to find and consume less I/O resources than find, because locate does not search for a specific directory. Instead, they look in their own databases, which contain information such as file names, directories, and so on. The Linux system automatically creates this database and updates it once a week, of course, the newly generated files cannot be found immediately, because the database is not indexed, you can manually update the locate database with UpdateDB, in order to avoid resource consumption, in the actual environment, usually do not choose to update. The Whereis database is created using MANDB, and is created using Makewhatis on CentOS 6.
