In linux SCP, we often upload files from server A to server B. However, when you use PUTTY to execute A command, the PUTTY terminal is closed after A part of the file is passed, at this time, the file is not complete. Here is a solution to let the SCP command be executed in the background. Use the nohup command Shell code $ nohup scp file_to_copy user @ server:/path/to/copy/the/file> nohup. out 2> & 1 this time is not running in the background, you need to enter the password, then press ctr + z to pause the command, and then use the bg command Shell code to bg this time, even if you disable PUTTY, SCP is still running in the background until it is complete.
