Running serial port terminal on ubuntu12.04 today

Cannot open/dev/ttys0:permission denied hint appears.

Here's how to fix it:

1. Since TTY belongs to the "dialout" category, such as username is JoeUser,

To view the user-affiliated groups first

Groups JoeUser

2. If you are not affiliated with "Dialout", then add the user

sudo gpasswd--add joeuser dialout
