Linux server cannot be started, INIT: NO inittab file found

The linux Server rented by a friend cannot enter the system when it is restarted. It stays on this page:
 
 
Restart the server, use the RHEL5 CD, set the boot from the optical drive, and enter the rescue mode


 
Enter linux rescue to enter rescue mode
Use # chroot to switch to the hard disk system
Command # chroot/mnt/sysimage/


 
Inittab file belongs to initscripts-7.31.6.EL- 1 RPM package
Re-install rpm-Uvh and fix this rpm package.
