First, we need a win system machine as the ntp server, which requires a software to provide the NTP service. I use the meberger NTP tool, which can be downloaded at http://www.meinberg.de/english/sw/index.htm.
In the installation process, the NTP service will be completed and started in the next step, but you still need to make some settings.
Start-all programs-meberger-Network Time Protocol-Edit NTP Configuration to open the setting file.
Remove the preceding "#" in the # server 127.127.1.0 and # fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 12 lines, change 12 after stratum to 10, and save the settings.
Then run "ntpdate Time Server IP Address" on the linux host. I use RHEL4, and the time can be synchronized after execution. You can also use the "hwclock-w" command to write the time to the bios.
In addition, if ntp is not installed in linux, you can find the ntp rpm installation package on your installation disk and extract it and install it with the RPM command!
