Linux Tips · solution to slow Linux running on VMWare

The current mainstream PCs run virtual machines, and the problem is not very big. However, some Linux (such as Suse 10.2) installed on VMware run slowly, and the text is obviously moved up one line at a time.
In fact, this is not because the program runs slowly. The main reason is that high display settings are enabled (these LINUX distributions target desktop users or server users rather than virtual machines ), the simulated graphics card of a virtual machine generally has poor performance, so the display bottleneck limits the speed. You only need to lower the system display settings.
For GRUB, modify/boot/grub/menu. lst and change the vga parameter to vga = normal. The display speed is much faster, although it is not very nice. You Can slightly fine-tune parameters such as 773, but 792, 795, and so on are too high compared to virtual machines. If you really want to do this, do not use a virtual machine to run well.
The configuration file of LILO is/etc/lilo. conf. You can also modify the vga parameter.
