Linux use evolution to send and receive emails

1. Install evolution

Evolution is an integrated suite of mail, calendar, planning tasks, and address features. Run as root apt-get install evolution can be installed on evolution.

2. Set up an email account

Choose Run Evolution from the Application menu in the taskbar, and then choose Preferences (preferences) from the Evolution Edit menu to open the Evolution Settings window. Click on the Mail Accounts, and then click the Add button to start Evolution Account assistant add accounts.

　　

Click Forward to enter the identity setting. In the full name in the Required information column, fill in the name of the account you want to set up in evolution, and enter your email address in email addresses. Let's say my email address is myemail@163.com.

　　

Click Forward to enter receiving email settings. Select the pop in the server type. If you do not know which option to choose, you need to go to the email provider's website or directly consult your email provider. Enter pop3.163.com in the server bar. Use the Secure connection option to choose never here, you can also choose whenever Possible, depending on the way your email provider offers. Click Check for supported types to find the authentication Type supported by the email server, where I choose Password. Then you can see if you need to select the remeber password option.

　　

Click Forward to enter receiving options settings. If you don't know what the inside option means, you don't have to choose one.

Click Forward to enter sending email settings. The Server type selects SMTP. Enter smtp.163.com in the server bar and select the server requires Authentication,use Secure connection Choose Ibid. In the Authentication type column, select Login.

　　

You have completed the 163.com email setup. Always click Forward until finished.

3. Receive mail from server

Click on the toolbar to receive the message icon or select Send/receive from the File menu to receive the message.

4. Send mail

It's simpler than you can imagine!
