Cacti is a set of graphical analysis tools for network traffic monitoring based on PHP, MySQL, SNMP and RRDtool.
If you want to use CACTI to monitor the Linux server's network card traffic, you need to install Net-snmp-utils-related packages on the monitored Linux servers, and we can install them via yum online, for example:
After the net-snmp-utils is installed, edit the/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf document on the monitored server
vi/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf
Add the following line to the command
The code is as follows |
Yum Install Net-snmp-utils |
The code is as follows |
SystemView included. 1.3.6.1.2.1.2 |
Save and re-SNMPD services
Service snmpd Restart
Then we go into cacti and add the servers that are being monitored
Console > Management > Devices > Add
Description fill in the custom name of the server being monitored, for example: Server1
Hostname fill in the IP address of the monitored server, for example: 192.168.0.1
Host Template Select the ucd/net SNMP Host option
Other items by default, click the Create button for creation.
Then, in the upper-right corner, click "Create Graphs for this Host", select the network card to monitor in "Data Query" and click the Create button.
At this point, we have successfully added a server in cacti, and its network card traffic monitoring, if the above configuration process is correct, we will see the corresponding network card traffic map.
If you've already installed it, we just need to increase it.
Configuring the SNMP service by the monitor server installation:
Yum-y Install NET-SNMP #snmp服务
Yum-y Install Net-snmp-utils #使用snmpwalk需要
To add or modify an SNMP configuration:
Vim/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf
Com2sec notconfiguser Default public #public为验证字符, you can customize your modifications, and cacti configuration will use
Access Notconfiggroup "" Any noauth exact systemview none None #systemview修改为all
View all included 1 #添加此行
Then login to the cacti interface to add the monitored server, click on the device--add to the top right corner, enter the server IP or domain name, set templates, SNMP authentication characters, ports.

This screen will appear when you add success:
Then click on this device to generate images, select the appropriate monitoring content.
Click Create, if successful will prompt:
Even if the addition of the monitoring server is complete, a few minutes of viewing the image can be seen in the monitor generated images.
