# cd/mnt/cdrom# LS

Create a temp folder and unzip the tar file above into this directory:

# TAR-ZXVF Vmwaretools-9.6.2-1688356.tar.gz-c/temp

Go to the temporary file you just created and view the contents of the directory below:

# cd/temp# Lsvmware-tools-distrib

Go to the directory shown above:

# CD vmware-tools-distrib/# lsbin doc etc FILES INSTALL installer Lib vmware-install.pl

Execute this executable file:

#./vmware-install.pl

When you are done with the above operation, start installing Vmware-tools
