June 19-20th, the National Convention Center, hosted by the Linux Foundation LinuxCon + Containercon + cloudopen (collectively LC3) will be strong landing in Beijing! This is LC3 's first visit to China, where thousands of professionals from home and abroad, including developers, architects, system administrators, devops experts, business leaders and more, will come together in this three-in-one open-source technology event.

On LC3, attendees will be able to collaborate and share information about the latest and most interesting open source technologies, including Linux, containers, cloud technologies, networking and microservices. In addition, they will learn how to get information within the open source community and lead the development of the community.

Conference highlights, agenda settings, with you sneak peek!

Ps:rancher Labs has two speeches on LC3 + Live booth, welcome to about!

Three will be a unity, not to be missed

LinuxCon

LinuxCon brings together maintainers, developers, and project leaders from the Linux community around the world to drive the rapid development of Linux ecosystems by providing the latest technology development information, education and collaboration opportunities, and problem-solving solutions.

Containercon

Containers are revolutionizing the way we automate, deploy, and extend workloads. From hardware virtualization to storage to software-defined networks, containers are driving the rapid rise of cloud-native methods. In this conference, you will learn how to make the most of these technologies and turn them into a competitive advantage.

Cloudopen

The world's top professionals are here to discuss the latest industry developments and trends, including cloud platforms, automation and management tools, development operations, virtualization, containers, software-defined networks, storage and file systems, big data tools and platforms, and open source best practices.

Big coffee and plenty of dry goods

The conference will have seven major track,100+ presentations, and the Executive director of the Linux Foundation, Jim Zemlin, executive director of OpenStack Foundation, Jonathan Bryce, Shen Yuanqing, Chairman of Microsoft Asia Pacific Technology Co., Ltd., will attend the conference and give a speech.

The seven major track of the conference is:

    • Linux Development & Administration/linux Development and management

    • Cloud Technologies/Clouds technology

    • Cloud Native–containers, Automation & Infrastructure/Clouds-native-containers, automation and infrastructure

    • Networking & Orchestration/Network

    • Community, Ecosystem & Compliance/community, ecosystem and compliance

    • Embedded Linux & IoT/Embedded Linux and the Internet of Things

    • Blockchain/Blockchain

two speeches to meet you

At the LC3 conference, Rancher Labs co-founder Dr. Liang Sheng, and the Greater China Technical director, Jiangpeng, was invited by the organizing committee to give presentations respectively. Two speeches, meet with you!

Presentation one: Is there room for innovation in container orchestration and scheduling?

Date: June 19 11:40-12:10

Venue: 309B Conference Room

Speech summary

In the container ecosystem, there may be no more technology, more attention and attention than orchestration and scheduling. Mesos, kubernetes and swam have become mainstream technology options in this field. At rancher Labs, we developed the industry's only container management platform to support these three frameworks. Over the past 12 months, rancher has been downloaded more than 10 million times and has thousands of deployments in the world. That's why we have a unique perspective on end-user behavior and the strengths and weaknesses of these frameworks.

What have we learned in the process of working directly with hundreds of of users who have deployed one of these frameworks? This is what we will discuss in this speech. We will examine how these frameworks will continue to evolve, and whether there are any gaps and opportunities for container orchestration and scheduling. We believe that there is still room for innovation in container orchestration and scheduling, and there will be new orchestration and scheduling frameworks in the future. If there is a new framework for container orchestration and scheduling, what are the new frameworks-what features, functions, and attributes do they need to differentiate themselves from today's mainstream frameworks?

Speaker: Liang Sheng

Dr. Liang Sheng graduated from the Chinese University of Science and Technology Banton and holds a PhD degree in computer from Yale University. Dr. Liang Sheng is the author of the Java language J2SE platform core component Jni (Java Native Interface) and leads the design of the JVM (Java Virtual machine), the most core of the Java language. He founded Cloud.com, the world's top cloud computing company in 2008, and launched the famous cloud management software Cloudstack. After Cloud.com was acquired by Citrix, Liang Sheng served as CTO of Citrix Systems Cloud platform and became Citrix's first Chinese CTO. Rancher Labs Inc. was founded in 2014.

Speech II: Automatic Kubernetes Deployment and management

Date: June 19 14:15-14:45

Venue: 309A Conference Room

Speech summary

Kubernetes's strong container orchestration and scheduling capabilities, and its popularity has long been unquestionable. However, for many organizations, the deployment and management of kubernetes clusters remains a big challenge. While many organizations run Kubernetes clusters in a single public cloud, such as GCE or AWS, the infrastructure requirements are similar, in which case it is relatively easy to deploy the Kubernetes cluster. However, there are organizations that have different infrastructure requirements, and they need to automate the deployment of kubernetes infrastructure across multiple clouds and data centers. And this poses a number of challenges:

    1. How do you ensure that kubernetes clusters located in different clouds and data centers can communicate with each other? Especially in some cases, there will even be a kubernetes cluster spanning multiple datacenters.

    2. How can I deploy multiple kubernetes clusters automatically?

    3. How can new Kubernetes Federation be incorporated into multi-cloud and multiple data center deployments?

    4. How to manage the health of the Kubernetes cluster itself, including, for example, how to detect and recover ETCD node failures?

    5. How do I automate the upgrade of Kubernetes Master and Kuberlets, and what to do if there are multiple versions of kubernetes clusters in a single deployment?

Over the past nine months, we have worked with many enterprise IT organizations to address these issues. We will share our experience in automating and simplifying kubernetes deployments. We will discuss how some of the latest community projects (such as Kubeadm and self-hosted kubernetes) will help solve future problems.

Speaker: Jiangpeng

Jiangpeng, technical director, Rancher Labs Greater China

Former Microsoft company Senior Technical Project manager, solution expert, Citrix company chief consultant. More than 10 years of experience in unified communications, application delivery, virtualization, cloud computing and other related fields, with an in-depth understanding of enterprise IT solutions, private cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
