I later found that computers equipped with Windows XP could use different labels to differentiate between optical drives, such as "DVD drive", "CD optical Drive", and so on, and the icons are not the same, but for Windows 98/me/2000 systems, Is it really impossible to change the volume label for the optical drive in these systems? (The optical Drive volume label is not as easy to change as the hard disk volume label!) Through a study of the Windows me/2000 registry, I finally found a solution that would help the two optical drive users.

For Windows 2000 users, start Registry Editor Regedit.exe, find Hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\ Driveicons, (no quotes are included for the following) and a new item in it is "F", then create a new item on "F" for "Defaultlabel", and finally enter "DVD_CDRW" in the default string value, the same way to establish "G", " Defaultlabel and CD-ROM, and then turn on "My Computer" to refresh. For Windows 98/me users, the first step is the same as above; the second step is to find hkey_users\. default\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\mountpoints\f establishes "Defaultlabel" and enters "DVD_" in the default string value therein CDRW ", likewise in hkey_users\. Default\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\mountpoints\g in which "Defaultlabel" is established and the default string value is entered in the CD-ROM, and finally reboot the computer.

Note that for Windows 98/ME systems you must have this second step, or you cannot achieve the purpose of the label. After I changed the label, I didn't mix the two optical drives any more.
