We have built a domain and deployed Windows Server 2008 R2 on two computers in the domain. In this article, we're going to have Windows Storage Server 2008 perform another function in addition to being a domain controller: to act as a shared storage for the cluster. Windows Server 2008 R2 can support dynamic migration of virtual machines, and the key is to have the virtual machines stored on a cluster shared volume. Cluster Shared volumes refer to a single storage device that is shared by each node within the cluster, and we are preparing to simulate this storage device with Windows Storage Server 2008来 in this experiment.
Download the iSCSI target installation CD from Microsoft's TechNet website and put the iSCSI target installation disc on Windows Storage Server 2008. As shown in Figure 1, locate Iscsitarget in the X64 directory of the installation CD and double-click Iscsitarget to execute the installer.

As shown in Figure 2, the Install Wizard for iSCSI Target appears, and click "Next" to continue.

As shown in Figure 3, check the "I accept" terms in the license agreement, agree to the end User License Agreement, and click the "Install" button to continue.
