DA14580 Introduction

Dialog launched the world's lowest, smallest smartbond DA14580 Bluetooth intelligent system-level chip (SoC), compared to the competitive solution, the product can be equipped with the application of intelligent mobile phone accessories, or computer peripheral products, battery cruising time extended by one times. The chip is designed to connect a keyboard, mouse or remote with a tablet, notebook or smart TV wirelessly, allowing consumers to connect to a watch, wrist, or smart label through a variety of innovative applications on smart phones and tablets, such as "self-assessment" health and physical conditions, and find a variety of functions such as missing keys.

The Smartbond is the first Bluetooth smart solution to break the 4mA wireless current limit, allowing designers to extend the battery life of a product by a factor, or reduce the number and size of required batteries. Its unique low-power architecture consumes only 3.8mA of wireless transceiver Current, 50% less than other Bluetooth smart solutions on the market, and its deep sleep mode currents are below 600nA. This means that in a product that sends 20 bytes per second, a 225mAh coin cell can keep it running for 4 years and 5 months, compared to a previous generation of Bluetooth smart technology that lasts only 2 years.

The DA14580 has a power management Area block that includes a DC-to converter and all the necessary ldos to reduce the need for external components as well as the total bill of materials.
