Problem Description:

An enterprise Mailbox server is Exchange Server 2013, with only one server and several databases, but only 1 database states are loaded and the other databases are dismounted.

The database state is dismounted, where all users of the database library do not use the mailbox to send and receive mail.


Workaround:

1. Query the mailbox database status for dismount and query the location of the mailbox database.

2. Query which mailbox database the user is in, purpose: Quickly locate the user in the mailbox database.

Get-mailbox-database "Mailbox Database 1***9" | Export-csv C:\Mailbox-1XXX9-2018-05-01-1345.csv

Export Mailbox-1xxx9-2018-05-01-1345.csv can query whether a user is in a database.


Note the query sAMAccountName to determine.

3. Repairing the database

A. Query mailbox Database status.

State:dirty Shutdown //Database status is not normal, so users can not use the mailbox properly.

B. Repairing the database state

C. Query the database status.

State:clean Shutdown //Modify the database status to normal.


4. Remove the log file from the mailbox database.

5. Mount the mailbox database, the status is loaded, and the test user is sending and receiving messages properly.

The test found that some users could use the mailbox, and some users could not use the mailbox.


6. Some users who cannot use the mailbox can be migrated to other mailbox databases and can be accessed normally.

7. Some users who cannot use the mailbox are migrated to another database and cannot be migrated properly.
