Now more and more friends are switching from the PC camp to the Mac camp. Because they are two completely different operating systems, the compatibility is not very good, so many people have encountered some problems, today, I will discuss with my friends the problem of USB flash drives and mobile hard drive formats after converting from PC to Mac.
I spent nearly two hours on the Forum last night and finally got a clear idea:
The best way is to format the USB flash disk and mobile hard disk into the exFAT format, so that both PC and Mac can be read and written, and both are native support for Win7, Vista and Mac OS, with good stability, high data security.
However, this method also has its disadvantages: Its read/write speed is a little slower than other formats, and frequent read/write between PC and Mac will damage the hard disk; in addition, xp does not support this format and requires patches.
The other is to use the NTFS format, which can be read and written normally on the PC. However, Mac can only read but cannot write data to it. To write data, plug-ins (such as NTFS mounter) must be installed ), the advantage of this method is that the read and write speed is fast, but it is also fatal: The write stability of this plug-in on Mac is not good, it is easy to cause data loss.
So after consideration, I decided that the second method can be used for data transfer media such as USB flash drives. In addition, because we often use USB flash drives to copy and print data, the average primary store now uses the XP system, if you change the format to exFAT, it will cause non-recognition and inconvenience. The general large-capacity mobile hard drive still uses method 1.
Do you have any other ideas!
