IMovie and iMovie HD Problems
- Disk Partition format:
This software requires that its files should be stored in partitions in Mac OS extended format. If not, move to a partition that meets the requirements, or find a useless partition and format it. Note that the Mac OS extended (journaled) Partition format is also supported.
- Additional Software for quicktime:
Attachment software of QuickTime may cause iMovie running problems, such as DivX, flip4mac, or 3ivx. Solution: to upgrade these additional software, if they cannot be found/cannot be upgraded, but they are moved or deleted, they are generally stored in the following directory:/Library/QuickTimeOr the user's~ /Library/QuickTime
- Third-party iMovie plug-ins:
You can also upgrade or delete or move these plug-ins./Library/iMovieOr the user's~ /Library/iMovieDirectory.
- Disk Space:
IMovie may require at least 2 GB of free disk space based on the size of the file you edited. If the space is insufficient, rendering and other operations may fail.
- Other user compatibility issues:
The simplest method is to create a user, but sometimes this method is not practical, for example, in a multi-user network environment.
- Permission issues:
This problem is the simplest but sometimes overlooked. You don't know how to deal with this situation. Contact the system administrator or experienced users.
- Conflict between versions:
This occurs when you run a newer version of iMovie and then run an earlier version, because the old version does not recognize the settings of the new version of plist file or some settings are invalid, resulting in various running conditions, you need to delete the plist file in the response, the most common ones are:
~ /Library/preferences/COM. Apple. iMovie *. plist
~ /Library/preferences/COM. Apple. Quicktime *. *. plist
- Font-related:
When you use a user migration tool to migrate and upgrade the system, the following folder may be deleted:
~ /Library/fontcollections
