Apple's OS X system is the dream of countless PC players, but for most people, it is impossible to buy a Mac on the condition of having a PC purely for hobby. As a result, countless Mac interface Shell, Mac OS Simulator shipped should be born. But the interface shell simulation is ultimately the case, and the OS simulator (such as PPC) is difficult to achieve the real Mac speed but the world is difficult, who did not expect jobs unexpectedly will suddenly announce that the Apple Computer will start using Intel's processor, The announcement gave countless PC players a gorgeous reverie about when my PC could be installed with Mac OS X. Apple certainly does not allow its operating system to run easily on ordinary PCs, adding security chips to control is a surprise, but surprisingly, someone will soon be able to crack this security measure, which, in any case, gives us pc hardcore a chance to really get close to Apple for the first time.

In order to get as many PC players as possible to experience Apple's excitement, in this article we will try to use the simplest way to explain how to make use of existing resources to round everyone's apple dream. Our drive home news already has a way to use the "Ubuntu Live CD" and the external USB hard drive to install OS X, and we're using a simpler dual-drive method that requires only an extra hard drive

Currently the most popular tiger-x86.tar.bz2, its name shows that it is Apple's latest operating system--tiger.

Because to strive for simplicity, so we use is already installed the OS X mirror, is the noisy days of the "tiger-x86.tar.bz2", it can be downloaded via BT online. It is actually a use of cracked Mac OS X x86 installed system mirroring, download back is a BZ2 format of the compression package, can be extracted with winrar, size of 6G or so, that is, we should at least empty an NTFS-formatted partition to place it, It cannot be uncompressed in a commonly used FAT32 partition (note: FAT32 winrar operation files cannot exceed 6G) in a partitioned format.

The extracted files and the dd.exe we need to use below

The extracted files include tiger-x86-flat.img, which is an already installed mirror that can be started using the VMWare5.0 virtual machine.

With VMWare5.0 to open the tiger-x86-flat.img image, we can change the memory and various peripherals used by this virtual machine.

Start tiger-x86 virtual Machine

MAC OS X starts the interface in the virtual machine, and the virtual machine starts at a very fast speed.

A screenshot of the virtual machine, where we can see that the system has recognized that the hardware used is the P4 3.06G CPU, which means that OS X is indeed the x86 version of the Apple operating system. However, since Mac OS X x86 is the latest development, it is also very demanding hardware requirements, the minimum required CPU support SSE2 instruction set, the use of some software also requires the use of SSE3 instruction set, and this requirement can not be bypassed at present.

In the VMWare5.0 virtual machine, although the MAC OS X can run normally, but the speed is not satisfactory, the mouse operation has a serious sense of jumping and hysteresis, a software startup operation is also a half-day will have a response. This kind of system runs at most is to look like, the slightest no practical value.

Running OS X in a virtual machine is not our ultimate goal, so let's talk about how to clone this image to a physical hard drive.

In this step we have to first connect the second hard drive to the system, in order to facilitate the operation of the next, it is best to set the second hard drive from the disk, and the first hard disk connected to the same IDE line. Although this connection is not required, it can simplify the complexity of using cloning software as much as possible.

Then we need to download DD for WINDOWS, which is http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/rawwrite/dd.htm, a mirrored copy software that can transfer OS X mirrors to a physical hard drive. : Below we need to start the Command Line window under Windows XP and convert to the directory where the DD for window is located, type: "Dd–list" (here in quotation marks for what you need to type, below). We'll get a list of all the disks that are connected to the WinXP system, in the form of? Deviceharddiskx*, where x represents the hard drive number, * represents the partition of the hard disk. Generally speaking, the first hard disk is Harddisk0 and the second hard disk is Harddisk1. Please note that all numbers start at 0 instead of 1.

Here must remember the DD--list detection of the hard disk list, distinguish two hard disk number, otherwise in the next step may cause the hard disk data loss. Then make sure that there is no data on the second hard drive, or that the data is already backed up, because the mirrored copy will cause all the data on the target hard drive to be deleted, noting the data for the entire hard drive, not the individual partitions.

Then type in the Windows XP command Line window: "dd bs=1048576 if=e:macx86tiger-x86-flat.img of=?" Deviceharddisk1partition0 "Here we assume that tiger-x86-flat.img is placed in the E:macx86 directory." After the command is executed, there is no obvious hint, and only two lines of copyright are available below the command line. At this time the CPU share is very low, the author of the computer only about 3% of the share, there seems to be nothing in the implementation. However, as long as there is no additional error in addition to the copyright notice, then the mirror copy is in execution, do not assume that the CPU share is not running. Because there is no chassis, no hard drive lights on two times made this mistake. Patiently wait for 10 minutes or so, there will be "xxxx in" and "xxxx out" command prompt, so far the mirror copy completed.

Finally, we need to shut down the system, the two hard drives are removed, and then the second hard drive is the target hard drive set to the main disk access to the computer, reboot.

In the start-up process, depending on the hardware, some computers can be started directly, there are some computers may be stagnant, it is necessary to appear in the picture above the prompt press any key to enter the option mode. In option mode we can enter the unrestricted safe mode by entering "-X", but security mode is required to log in with a password, so we need to rewrite the password. Restart again, and in the option mode input "-S", into Single-user mode, this mode is similar to the Linux command line operation, we need to enter: "SH/ETC/RC", and then the screen will perform sequence operation, stop after the input: "passwd Curtis", The system will require you to enter a new password and ask for confirmation again, and then reboot after completion. In addition, we can see from the image above that the system is actually labeled any video card as a standard video card that conforms to VESA, which can achieve maximum compatibility, but also loses most of the hardware acceleration of the current video card. If some readers get a yellow screen alarm in the boot, you can replace a video card and try again.
