I believe that you can open the search and replace dialog box to find and replace the text, recording macros, and executing revision documents in the document, however, you can open and execute these functions by selecting commands under the menu. But do you know? Using the status bar of Word 2000, we can quickly perform the above operations.
1. Quickly open the "search and replace" dialog box
From the "edit" menu, execute "Search", "replace", or "locate" to open the "search and replace" dialog box. Double-click the mouse at any position in front of the "Recording" button on the status bar. You can also open the "search and replace" dialog box (1), and Word 2000 automatically selects the "locate" tab for us, this greatly facilitates our operations.

Double-click the recording button on the status bar to open the macro recording dialog box (2 ), this is more convenient than executing the "tool"> "macro"> "Recording new macro" command to open the "macro recording" dialog box.

3. Quick execution of the revision function
We often need to modify the first draft of the document multiple times. The revision feature of Word 2000 can be used to help us make changes. To make the revision function take effect, we generally execute the "Tools"> "revision"> "highlight revision" command in sequence. In (3) in the displayed dialog box, select the "Mark revision when editing" check box and press the "OK" button to perform the revision function, which is very troublesome. In fact, you only need to double-click the "revision" button on the status to quickly enable or disable the revision function. When not in revision status, the revision button is displayed as light gray. In addition, when we right-click the "modify" button on the status bar, the shortcut menu shown in (4) will appear, greatly facilitating our operation.

4. Select continuous text
As we all know, when we press F8, the text selection mode can be expanded (the "extension" button on the status bar will become effective ), you can click the mouse at the end of the selected text or press the arrow key on the keyboard to increase or decrease the Text Selection Range. To cancel the extended mode, Press Esc. In fact, double-click the "extension" button on the status bar to enable or disable this mode, which is obviously more convenient.
5. Switch the "insert/Rewrite" status
In general, we can press the Insert key on the disk to switch the "Insert/Rewrite" status. However, if we have changed the default function of the Insert key to the paste function (execute the "options" command in the "Tools" menu and select the "edit" tab, when you select the "paste with INS" option, you can use the Insert key as the paste Key, we only need to double-click the "Rewrite" button on the status bar to switch the "insert/Rewrite" status.
6. Modify spelling and syntax errors quickly
When editing a document, if Word 2000 is checking for spelling and syntax errors, an animated pen will appear on the "spelling and syntax status" indicator icon on the status bar. If no error is found, a check mark is displayed. If an error is found, "X" is displayed ". Double-click the icon shown in (5) and the shortcut menu shown in (6) will appear. You can modify the error or ignore the error as needed.

7. Cancel the background print task
When we givePrinterAfter a print task is issued (we usually set the print task to print in the background), the printer icon will appear on the status bar, indicating that Word 2000 is printing your document in the background. The number next to the printer icon displays the page number that is being printed. Double-click the printer icon to cancel the print task. However, you can perform the task faster. Otherwise, the print task cannot be canceled.
Xiao Jian: A small status bar that is easily overlooked by everyone has hidden so many special functions. I believe everyone will surely bring a lot of convenience to everyone. However, by default, the status bar is displayed in Word 2000. If not, run the "options" command in the "Tools" menu, select the "View" tab, and select the "status bar" check box under "display, click OK to display the status bar (7 ).
