The definition of GIS has been very vague. Some people suspect that it is pseudo-scientific in the Post. Most beginners feel very abstract and do not know what GIS can do or what it can be used. First, let's take a look at the real existence and function of GIS and try to make it less abstract. I don't know if the kindergarten children have been in touch with the map. It took too long to remember whether I had met or met the map at that time. In short, primary school students must have the concept of map. Because the walls of the Rural Primary School I read are covered with tiles on map of China and map of the world. Maps and GIS are inextricably linked. It can be said that there is no map, and there is no GIS. The University has courses such as cartography and map drawing. Most of the maps seen by ordinary people are administrative area maps. There are various maps in the professional field, also called thematic maps. The map has a scale, a legend, and a needle in the north. The map projection, that is, the coordinate system, will be added to the map. Understanding the coordinate system is a must for getting started with GIS. I am ashamed to myself. I still fully understand it. I can only deal with it in the past and continue to learn. Any book introducing GIS will mention which industries will use it, such as public security, fire control, planning, land, real estate, water conservancy, and transportation...
