Recently, the company installed Kaspersky Antivirus software on every computer on the LAN. Because most computers in the LAN cannot access the Internet, the network administrator regularly updates the virus library in the shared folder of the service that exists in the virus library. However, each update requires copying these files to a local disk to upgrade the anti-virus software. It is a little troublesome. Later, I found that the Kaspersky Antivirus software can automatically upgrade the virus library.
1. MAP network drives
1. Click Start, point to all programs, point to attachments, and click Windows Resource Manager to start the Windows Resource Manager window.
2. Click ing network drive on the Tools menu ".
3. In the drive box, click the drive letter to be used by the ing drive, for example, select "Z :". You cannot use any drive letter that is currently in use on your computer.
4. In the "folder" box, enter the name of the shared location to be connected in the UNC (Universal Naming Standard) format. The format is as follows:
\ Computer name sharing name
Alternatively, you can click the Browse button to find the computer to connect to, the shared location on the computer, and the subfolders in the shared folder. For example, in the "folder" box, type "\ sbdc2000 virus protection ".
5. Click "finish.
Now, in the folder pane of the Windows Resource Manager window, you can see the created ing drive (shared folder) and all other drives on your computer.
2. download updates from local folders
1. In the Kaspersky Antivirus Software window, click the "Settings" tab, and then click "configuration Update ".
2. Open the update settings window, select "Allow automatic update", and select the update frequency in the "update frequency" box. If you have set an update interval for your computer, for example, once every 12 hours, when the time when the software is not started exceeds the specified update interval, the computer immediately updates the anti-virus database after it is started.
3. in the update settings window, select the "from local folder" option from the "Update type" box and click the "Browse" button after "Local Folder, in the "Select Local folder" window, specify the path, point to the folder where the anti-virus database has been decompressed, and click the "select" button.
4. Click OK.
So far, Kaspersky Antivirus software can be automatically upgraded. However, if you do not need to map the shared folder to a network drive after a while, you can delete the drive letter in the Windows Resource Manager window, click "Disconnect network drive" on the "Tools" menu, click the resource to be deleted in the "network drive" box, and click "OK. Note: The above operations are completed in Windows XP Professional Edition. In other versions of Windows, the specific operations are slightly different. Please pay attention to them during the trial.
